The Working Words Difference
Whether you’re
spending thousands or millions on new technology, effectively
communicating its implementation is essential.
Too often
technologists or business analysts are left to design and edit
the final communications that go out to business users of new
technology. Sometimes the user training is professionally
designed but the range of other programme communications are
poorly designed, edited, and executed - leaving the business
users confused, uninformed, or left thinking that the
stereotypical ‘techos’ are on the job again!
Where these
communications require users to take action, in support of the
introduction of technology, the embedded ‘call to action’ is
often missed and this can create further issues. When you’re
close to the subject area and dealing with the detail it’s very
easy to lose touch with the language of the user and the
critical ‘what’s in it for me’. |
